Practice Owner

Practice Manager

The Veterinary Practice Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, financial performance, and administrative management of the veterinary practice. Working in partnership with the practice owners, veterinarians, and Operations Manager, the Practice Manager develops and implements business strategies, oversees human resources and financial management, ensures regulatory compliance, and fosters a positive workplace culture. This role focuses on the long-term success and sustainability of the practice while empowering department leaders to achieve operational excellence.

Kelly, VRCE

Madison graduated from Western Illinois University in 2019 with her Bachelors degree in Agricultural Science with an emphasis in Pre-Veterinary Medicine. She graduated from University of Illinois in 2026 In her free time Madison enjoys trail riding, going on visits with her registered miniature therapy horse, spending time with her husband, cats, dogs, and horses.

Dr. Becky grew up on a grain farm outside of Bishop Hill, Illinois. She is a 2005 graduate of the University of Illinois Veterinary Medical College and focused her studies on general small and large animal veterinary medicine. She also has a minor interest in exotic animal medicine. Dr. Becky and her husband live on a small farmette with horses, cats, and dogs. Dr. Becky enjoys trail riding, gardening, and lounging around with her pets in her free time.

Veterinary Operations Manager

Sam joined our team in 2015. She is a graduate of Blackhawk Community College's Veterinary Assistant Program. She loves our feline patients. In her spare time Sam enjoys working on numerous crafts and spending time with her family. 

The Veterinary Operations Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of the veterinary hospital to ensure efficient workflow, high-quality patient care, exceptional client service, and effective teamwork. This position works closely with the Practice Manager and veterinarians to implement hospital policies, optimize daily operations, supervise department leads, and resolve operational challenges. The Operations Manager focuses on execution and efficiency while supporting the overall goals established by the Practice Manager.

Sam

The Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) is a licensed/credentialed veterinary professional responsible for providing advanced nursing care, anesthesia monitoring, diagnostic support, and technical expertise under the supervision of a licensed veterinarian. The CVT plays a critical role in patient advocacy, client education, and hospital efficiency while maintaining the highest standards of medical care for companion animals and livestock.

Erika, CVT

Lead Veterinay Technician 

Erika joined the Orion Veterinary Clinic in 2017. She is one of our Certified Veterinary Technicians. She attended Muscatine Community College and graduated in 2017.  Erika enjoys working with both small and large animals, exotics and pocket pets. Outside of work, she likes to spend time with her husband, her children Sunny and Wylder, and her cats Olive Oil, Motor oil, Avocado Oil, Wink.

Ellie, CVT

Ellie joined our team in 2026. She grew up in Alexis, IL and now lives on a farm in Geneseo, IL. She is a  2026 graduate from DMACC Veterinary Technician program. Ellie has an Australian Shepherd named Millie and a cat named Ember.

Certified Veterinary Technicians

She has been in veterinary medicine since 2011 when she completed her Certification as a Veterinary Assistant. She has since transitioned to her current role in reception. Kelly strives for excellence and has gone above and beyond in her quest for knowledge. She holds a seat on the President’s Advisory Council for the North American Association of Veterinary Receptionists (NAAVR). She is also a Lead Ambassador for Ignite’s Veterinary Receptionist Certificate of Excellence program (VRCE) which she completed in 2023. Kelly also completed NAVC's Certified Client Service Representative Certification in 2025. She is also Fear Free Certified. She is currently working on obtaining her Certified Veterinary Practice Management title.

 

In her spare time, Kelly reaches for creative outlets such as knitting, crocheting, spinning and dyeing yarn, reading, and writing. She runs a busy household full of her furry and finned companions. Kelly has 2 dogs (Milliliters and Nova), 3 cats (Chips, Queso Blanco, and Orange Marmalade)  and her fish, African Mbunas.

Veterinary Assistants

The Veterinary Assistant supports veterinarians and veterinary technicians by providing quality patient care, assisting with medical procedures, maintaining a clean and organized hospital, and ensuring an exceptional client experience. This position plays an essential role in delivering compassionate care to companion animals and livestock while promoting efficiency, safety, and teamwork throughout the clinic.

Katy

Katy joined our team in 2024 every patient and client holds a special place in her heart. Katy enjoys making each visit a special one. In her free time, she spends time with her family and her one-eyed dog. 

Sam

Sam joined our team in 2025. Animal care has been a lifelong passion of Sam's. She loves to educate all of our clients. In her spare time, Sam spends time with her pets, Cooper, Chewy, and Vegetables, as well as her boyfriend. Sam also fosters several animals. 

Client Care Specialists

The Client Care Specialist is the first point of contact for clients and plays a vital role in creating a welcoming, compassionate, and efficient experience. This position is responsible for providing exceptional customer service, coordinating appointments, managing medical records, processing payments, and facilitating communication between clients and the veterinary team. The Client Care Specialist helps ensure smooth daily operations while supporting quality patient care.

Charlene

Charlene joined our team in 2013.  Charlene and her husband live on a farm outside of Orion. They raised dairy cattle for 20 years.  Charlene was a registered nurse for 42 years and practiced in the Genesis health system. In her free time, Charlene enjoys cooking, showing her German Shepherd dogs and seeing her grandson.

Dawn

Dawn joined our team in 2023 and she is proud to work at a veterinary practice the small town she always called home. Growing up on a hobby farm, caring for a variety of animals was a natural part of daily life, which makes being part of a mixed animal practice especially fitting. Dawn enjoys welcoming clients and helping make every visit a positive experience for both pets and their people. Outside of work, she loves spending time outdoors, fishing, making memories with her grandson, and getting out of town when her dog, Bruiser, and cat, Charlie allow it.

Kennel Assistants

The Veterinary Kennel Assistant provides compassionate, high-quality care for hospitalized, boarding, and recovering patients while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe hospital environment. This position supports veterinarians, veterinary technicians, assistants, and client service representatives by ensuring patients' daily care needs are met and the clinic operates efficiently.

Rylee

Rylee joined our team in 2022. In her spare time she enjoys taxidermy. Rylee has cats and chinchillas.

Emma

Emma joined our team in 2025. She enjoys welcoming all of our patients. Emma takes pride in caring for our patients while they board. She is very generous in giving treats and spoiling them. 

Custodian

The Veterinary Clinic Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, safe, and organized environment throughout the clinic. This role is essential to infection control, patient care, and creating a welcoming environment for clients and staff. Duties include cleaning patient areas, treatment rooms, offices, kennels, and common areas while following all clinic safety and biosecurity protocols.

Riki

Riki joined our team in 2020. She enjoys spending time with her grandkids. Riki has two cats, Moose and Maple.
